"An old soul in an eleven year old body."
這是記者 對 Brenden Foster的第一印象。他是個11歲的小孩，曾經是跑的最快、爬的最高的小孩，曾經夢想要當個攝影師。直到三年前他被診斷出患有白血病。
不久前醫生告訴他，他只剩下不到二周的生命。
"What's the best thing about life?" 面對記者的問題，他低著頭回答："Just having one"
但他對生命，卻沒有低頭。
"I was coming back from one of my clinic appoints and I saw this big thing of homeless people, and then I thought I should just get them something," he said.
如果是你，剩下如此短的生命，你會想要做些什麼？ 和好友相聚？實現過去的心願？還是看遍世界的美景？在這段最後的時光，這位住在 Seattle的小男孩，卻還在為別人著想。
當然他也不是沒有遺憾，他也想問上帝：
"Why at so young an age? I could have done more. But if it has to be now, it has to be now."
"It happens, it's natural" 面對他的死亡時，他有著難以想像的成熟和冷靜。
我很難想像若自己身同此處，能像他一樣的成熟。只希望我可以記得他說的話。
"Live life to the fullest"
He died last Friday, 21 November, 2008.
"I had a great time" Brenden Foster said.

期中考"月" 終於順利的結束了。
念博士班是個很令人謙卑過程，感謝主，目前還沒有到自卑的階段。
在三周考三科的馬拉松結束，稍喘口氣之後，接下來就是期末百米賽跑的一周考三科大挑戰了。
真期待寒假睡到自然醒日子的到來呀…
